Advanced Fiber Laser Cutting Technology
S&O resolutely maintain our position at the very forefront of laser technology, after investment in a ’12kW Bystronic ByStar Fiber 3015 Dynamic Edition’ fiber laser cutting machine. This machine provides vast improvements over our previous laser machine, in terms of usability, efficiency and expanding our capabilities. Component accuracy has improved to a deviation of ±0.1mm, and yet the cutting head is able to reach speeds of 169000mm/min, due to a complete redesign of the linear drive system. As a perfect complement to the machine, we also utilise ByTrans automation- an automated plate and sheet loader and component unloader, increasing efficiency and eliminating manual handling.

- Maximum Sheet Size – 3000 x 1500 as standard, up to 3100 x 1580 subject to stock availability
- Mild Steel – Up to 25mm
- Stainless Steel – Up to 25mm

- Brass – Up to 12mm
GAS-MIX
- S&O have further invested in Bystronic’s Gas-Mix, a revolutionary method of combining the best qualities of each cutting assist gas- oxygen and nitrogen.
- This allows us to cut mid-range thicknesses of Mild Steel with the speed of nitrogen, and the cut edge quality of oxygen.
- The nitrogen in the mix prevents an oxidised, flaky cut surface- no costly post processing required!
Automatic Turret Nozzle Changer- another efficiency increasing component of the machine that ensures the right nozzle for the right job, all without operator involvement.
