Our welding abilities envelop a wide range of material types and thicknesses, with our fabricators being fully conversant in light and heavy gauge stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium. Our welded components end up in a wide range of end applications, from chemical/pharmaceutical applications to aesthetically pleasing decorative applications- balustrades, as an example.
We utilise numerically controlled TIG welding sets to ensure the stability and quality of all our TIG welds, thus ensuring the microscopic grain structure of our welds are ‘inclusion’ free. Further to ensuring the strength of welds, utilising TIG sets means we do not have to clean unsightly spatter, post-welding.
The welding department is another area in which S&O have invested in the latest equipment, recently acquiring two NC Synergic Pulsed MIG Welding machines. Pulsed MIG welding machines offer many benefits over traditional MIG welding, for example; reduced spatter, reduced heat build up and a higher quality and strength of weld due to a more stable arc. These factors combine to create a superior end product, due to the eradication of burn-through on thinner materials and the eradication of spatter across our welding range.
(Several of our fabricators have been coded welders previously, and as necessary can become so again to meet with your requirements).
